Board rooms are the place where major decisions are made that affect everyone from those employed by the company and investors who own its shares, and ultimately the entire economy. The rooms don’t have to be fancy they are just standard conference rooms big enough to seat all of the participants, and are equipped with a table large enough to accommodate the papers of the board and other things needed during the meeting. What they need is a space in which they can have an open, honest discussion that encourages collaboration and the best decision-making.
Training in the boardroom is crucial for all board members, and also for the company secretary and the professional in governance who assist them. These courses cover the broad range of knowledge required to be an effective board member. They also examine more behavioural as well as psychological and cultural aspects that contribute to effective governance and the dynamics of the boardroom.
Boardroom Mastery ™ is an interactive board game that offers participants the opportunity to improve their leadership abilities in a safe, challenging and secure environment. Each participant will have one-on-one time with an organizational psychologist who will examine their individual behavior to assist them in understanding how this can impact their decision-making. Over three days, participants will be part of a board confronted with real-world governance issues and crisis scenarios to challenge their existing boardroom skills and experience.
Boardroom Mastery, designed with experienced leaders in mind, is only offered by invitation and is part of NACD Accelerate. Learn more about the program here.
